About these terms

These terms apply to every booking and rental with Jeewaka Auto Rental (Reg. No. WK 17930), No. 18/A/1, Midellawita, Ganemulla, Sri Lanka. By creating an account, making a booking or collecting a vehicle, you agree to them.

At handover you will also sign a written rental agreement. If anything in that agreement differs from this page, the signed agreement applies.

Who can rent

You must hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle class and provide your NIC (or passport) and licence details. We may decline a booking if your details cannot be verified or your licence has expired.

Only you, or a driver we have approved in advance, may drive the vehicle.

Payments and late payment

Rental fees are payable on the agreed due date. A refundable deposit may be required before handover.

If a payment is late, we may allow a short grace period of up to three (3) days. If the fee is still unpaid after that, the vehicle must be returned straight away. If it is not, we may recover the vehicle from wherever it is, and you will be responsible for reasonable recovery costs and related losses.

Using the vehicle

Use the vehicle only for lawful purposes and only within Sri Lanka.

You must not sub-rent, lend, sell or hand the vehicle to anyone else without our prior approval. If you do, we may end the rental immediately and take the vehicle back, and you will be liable for resulting losses.

The vehicle must never be used for carrying illegal or prohibited goods, theft, fraud or any other crime, racing, or unauthorised towing.

Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Accidents and damage

Report any accident or damage to us immediately and cooperate with any police report and insurance claim.

For minor damage where repairs cost less than Rs. 40,000 and are not covered by insurance, you pay the repair cost. We may deduct it from your deposit.

For repairs of Rs. 40,000 or more, the repair is handled under the vehicle’s insurance policy and its conditions. While the vehicle is off the road for repairs, we may charge the daily rental fee for loss of income, for up to thirty (30) days.

If an accident happens while you are driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the insurance claim is rejected, you are responsible for all costs and losses the insurer does not cover.

Insurance

Our vehicles carry comprehensive or third-party insurance, as applicable to each vehicle. Insurance is subject to the insurer’s terms, excesses and exclusions; it does not cover misuse or breach of these terms.

Seizure by authorities

If the vehicle is taken by the police, a court or any government authority because of something unlawful you did, you are responsible for our direct losses, loss of rental income and legal costs for that period.

Cancellations and changes

Contact us as early as possible to change or cancel a booking. Any refund of advance payments is at our discretion and depends on how much notice you give.

Our liability

We take care to provide safe, roadworthy vehicles. We are not responsible for personal belongings left in a vehicle, or for indirect losses such as missed travel plans, except where the law says otherwise.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your booking applies. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
